Esfuerzo de Amor

Overview:

Esfuerzo de Amor is one of our income-generating projects in which we market and sell a line of clutches, earrings and other products crafted in Honduras from 100% post-consumer snack chip bags and soda lables.  All products are handmade by the women of Villa Soledad, Siete de Abril, and Las Brisas.  The income of those living on less than $2 a day, which includes a number of artisans who participate in this program, is not only small it is also unpredictable.  Esfuerzo de Amor, by opening markets for their products in the United States, has taken tentative steps towards stabilizing the artisans’ income flows.  The income the artisans receive from selling their products is used to pay for food, medicine, and education for their children. Moreover, since the chip bags and soda labels that the clutches are made from a no longer considered trash and consequently burned, this program improves the environment.
